More Clarity
Clarity as a process, what's coming up, top sellers & more

It’s been a busy but quiet weekend after a really rough week day job wise. Dougie was spending a few days in Florida golfing with a buddy, and we’re celebrating his birthday tonight!
I did send a round up of our weekend at Rosemary Beach. If you missed it, read it here.
Thanks for reading and shopping! I love sharing here through Substack! Its softer. Not as fast a pace as instagram. And instagram chooses whether you see me or not. If you’ve subscribed here, you’ll get an email when I post. Simple.

Sweetfringebenefit of the week
Each week I find the good, the sweet in a moment or season that is hard, challenging, nasty or difficult.
It wasn’t one of my best weeks.
For a long time I was resentful when someone asked me when I was going to “retire.” I felt like I had just gotten started. Staying home with my children for 17 years and then re-entering the workforce was not easy. It’s something I’m was proud of. I’m still proud of. It was hard. But I did it.
It wasn’t a career I really wanted. I don’t love accounting. But I found that I was good at seeing the big picture and managing processes. And as time went on, I gained more responsibility and growth.
Its complicated. Without giving too many details, I actually didn’t think I’d be working still. My company was acquired almost 7 years ago and never thought they’d still be following the same silo’d process. But here I am. And now I have decisions to make.
I want it to be a decision and not a knee jerk reaction to a really bad week. But this week is evidence that I’m collecting to move forward.
And, I wouldn’t look at it as retirement. It would be resigning. Because I’ve found my real passion.
Inspiring women to find the good, the sweet, in each changing season. So that’s what I’ll do here. Because this past week was full of lots of “nasties” of a mini-season. Disappointment in myself, frustration with others, anxiousness in the lack of control, and wanting to do so many other things.
That’s what I hear from many out there that decide it’s time. There’s other things you want to do, and can’t do them because of the job.
This week’s Sweetfringebenefit is more clarity. Like Dougie told me, “you’re getting closer.” He respects my decision. It’s one I have to be able to sleep with. Biggest hurdle is healthcare, but then there’s my loyalty to a co-worker and a process. So, if you have any advice? Do pass it along. Because for me, clarity takes time.
But I know I’m going in the right direction. Are you retired? Do you have date? What will you do with your time?

It seems to me that your way is clear. You’re looking more for reasons to stay than to go. If the financial aspect is not the tipping point, why continue to do something that seems to bring you down. I stayed at home to raise my kids and returned to work for a few years when my youngest was in high school (good for both of us). COVID kind of waylaid my plans and then I desired the flexibility to travel, visit kids, and help care for aging parents (we are down to one remaining grandparent, who lives locally). So, I stopped working for pay, but I volunteer with causes that feed my soul. This path is economically feasible which is a great luxury. Health care costs on the marketplace are the biggest concern; we are a few years from Medicare! I hope you can discern your path forward with peace and joy.
Hello! I have never gone back to work after raising our family. Our youngest will be a senior in college next fall. He is a swimmer so not having a job gives me the freedom to just leave town to watch him swim. I volunteer to keep me busy and I love it. You got this! ♥️
