It seems to me that your way is clear. You’re looking more for reasons to stay than to go. If the financial aspect is not the tipping point, why continue to do something that seems to bring you down. I stayed at home to raise my kids and returned to work for a few years when my youngest was in high school (good for both of us). COVID kind of waylaid my plans and then I desired the flexibility to travel, visit kids, and help care for aging parents (we are down to one remaining grandparent, who lives locally). So, I stopped working for pay, but I volunteer with causes that feed my soul. This path is economically feasible which is a great luxury. Health care costs on the marketplace are the biggest concern; we are a few years from Medicare! I hope you can discern your path forward with peace and joy.

Hello! I have never gone back to work after raising our family. Our youngest will be a senior in college next fall. He is a swimmer so not having a job gives me the freedom to just leave town to watch him swim. I volunteer to keep me busy and I love it. You got this! ♥️
