Its more than a game
But then it is just a game, 5 sweaters for now & later, and fresh Walmart finds
Just returned from spending a few days with my youngest grandson. Such a sweet visit, but gosh, I’ve forgotten what winter can be like in the northeast. I was prepared with my parka and boots. Tap on the photo above to shop the outfit.
But not for the wind. And getting a little guy in and out of a carseat. Cold.
It prompted a section below that I’m dubbing “What to buy this week” to get you through the rest of winter and on in to spring.
We are headed to my daughter’s for the game. Looking forward to visiting with them and cheering on our team!

Sweetfringebenefit of the week
Each week I find the good, the sweet in a moment or season that is hard, challenging, nasty or difficult.
My brothers played sports. My sister and I cheered. Ok. I did play field hockey until the other girls got really good. #notfastenough
I don’t really remember my dad watching sports on tv when I was growing up. He was more of a newspaper guy.
But it was culture. Everyone was a sports fan in Boston. In the 70’s, everyone talked about Bobby Orr. The Bruins reigned. For sure, no one talked about the Patriots much. Ha!!
When I started dating Dougie, Boston sports became even more important. And well, the Celtics glory days in the 80s were pretty fun.
We went to a Celtics NBA finals game, attended a championship parades, Fenway park on the T, and Schaefer Stadium was just miles from my house.
I’ve even been to a Patriots Super Bowl too!
The opponents were always a bit demonized. And I supposed, so were we. All in good fun of cheering on our team. Usually.
But sports brought our family together. It sunk our roots deeper. It helped us keep our identity of who we were. We left Boston and moved south right before the glory years of all 4 teams. But gosh it was fun watching from afar.
The kids always loved wearing their jerseys proudly to school, even amongst the haters.
And now the next generation has begun. With new Drake Maye jerseys. Even amidst some hostile territory in NJ and CT.
And now we are UT (Tennessee) fans too. Because our son-in-law’s roots are as deep in Tennessee as ours are in Boston. He says he can cheer for the Patriots as long as they aren’t playing the Titans. 🤣 Fair.
I no longer demonize the opponent. I see them as another rallying cry for a region. For families. For bringing people together.
Today’s #sweetfringebenefit of a scattered family is the Super Bowl. The texts are flying in our family and amongst longtime friends and it’s been so fun. Once again, let’s go Pats!
Whatever brings you together today, I hope you enjoy the comraderie. It is, after all, just a game.
What to buy this week
My sales data is telling me you’re ready to buy spring clothes. But the weather is telling us otherwise. Tap on the photo and you’ll be directed to my LTK with links to the entire outfit. I’ve added a few direct links under each photo as well.
Here’s 5 fresh new sweaters to wear right now and on in to spring.
Cotton sweater. Wear layered under a blouse or long sleeve tee now, later on its own or over your shoulders. I did prefer to size up. My tennis necklace and cross are 20% off this weekend.
It’s just happy. Wear with jeans (blue, grey, ecru) or khaki. Perfect with camo or olive green (the floral jeans would be great with this) too. I’m wearing this one from Walmart. (Bought my reg size but would rather a larger size) but this one from Target is cute or this lace up fleece that’s a bit more casual.
Let’s face it? It’s still winter, and then there’s fake spring too. Love this one! Pair with jeans or leopard pants now, later with a pretty maxi floral skirt or just over your shoulders with a lacy white blouse.
Ahhh this gorgeous blue! Wear now with your darker jeans, and later with a floral pant(these just in), skirt or dress. This color was just restocked. Runs a bit big so size down if you don’t want the relaxed fit
If you’re looking for the perfect spring sweater? It’s this cotton cashmere one. You can wear a blouse underneath or a long sleeve t-shirt right now. Or maybe you just run hot, and so this is enough. Under $50 and available in pastels and neutrals. I have the pink and the blue.
Not to Miss
I provide links to sales that I’m shopping and think you’ll want to as well. I do make a small commission (called affiliate commission) if you make a purchase through my links at no additional cost. The brand pays for it, think of it as coming out of their marketing budget.
Bauble Bar statement necklaces come in so many fun colors. I love this two toned blue one, and these solid color necklaces are $18 off with code BEHAPPY
Just restocked a couple of my Eby Bras. My favorite are the relief bra in this new fallen rock color and the pain free t-shirt bra. You feel the difference when you get new bras!
Electric Picks 20% off plus a free earring with $100+ purchase. I love my dainty cross and this tennis necklace has been perfect for everyday wear. Also eyeing these earrings.
Talbots 40% off 1 item (Sunday) + 25% off the rest! I picked up these twill casual pants. They were heavy enough for the cold temps, but will be sweet on in to spring. Need a new pair of khakis? Will be styling these soon too.
Walmart finds
Ruffle collar trimmed cardigan
Platform rafia sandals (the muted blue is my favorite, size down if in-between
Elevated Quilted canvas/denim jacket
